In 2018, our founder adopted a dog, turned twelve, and started Knot Perfect.
At 12 years old, our founder, Austin, was so moved by his experiences at meal packing events that he started making dog toys to raise funds to feed more people. His mission to fight hunger has included being a 2x competitor on NBC's American Ninja Warrior where he uses his platform to advocate for the one billion people around the world who go to bed hungry each night.
Austin was selected as the 2024 Young Man of the Year for the state of Virginia by the Knights of Columbus. In 2020, he was one of only 10 students nationwide to receive the National Catholic Education Association Youth Virtues, Valor and Vision Award for his efforts to fight world hunger.
The name Knot Perfect highlights the imperfections of a world where children and families do not have food to eat. As a freshman at the University of Notre Dame, Austin is looking forward to continuing his work to feed the hungry and the new directions his mission takes him.
